The law provides a durable framework for Illinois and a model for other states on how to deploy proven grid solutions that improve reliability\u00a0and reduce price volatility for Illinois consumers.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cCGRA is advancing smart, timely solutions,\u201d said <strong>Sarah Cottrell\u00a0Propst, SVP of State Affairs at ACP<\/strong>. \u201cWith new investments in energy storage and virtual power plants, Illinois is positioning itself to keep energy costs low, improve reliability, and create clean-energy and manufacturing jobs\u2014proven strategies that benefit consumers and strengthen the economy.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CRGA creates Illinois\u2019 first energy storage procurement program to procure 3,000 MW of energy storage capacity by 2030 and aligns storage siting and permitting requirements with existing wind and solar standards. CRGA also establishes the state\u2019s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) initiative, which pools existing resources\u2014such as solar panels and batteries\u2014to send stored power back to the grid during periods of high demand.
